Jiswan Tuladhar Announces Candidacy for NATTA President

Experienced tourism entrepreneur unveils agenda focused on governance, digital transformation, market promotion, and sustainable tourism.

Tourism entrepreneur Jiswan Tuladhar has officially announced her candidacy for the position of President of the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) for the 2026–2028 term.

With more than 25 years of experience in Nepal's tourism industry and over 15 years of institutional involvement in NATTA, Tuladhar has pledged to provide transparent, inclusive, accountable, and results-oriented leadership to further strengthen the association.

Having started her travel business at a time when women's participation in the tourism industry was limited, Tuladhar has been actively engaged with NATTA since 2010, serving in various leadership roles. In 2016, she successfully completed a solo trek to the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), earning the prestigious "Nepali Traveler" recognition.

She is also the first Nepali woman rally driver to represent Nepal in international motor rallies, competing in Thailand, Indonesia, and France.

Alongside her candidacy announcement, Tuladhar unveiled a comprehensive agenda focused on expanding member services, strengthening good governance, promoting Nepal in key source markets including India and China, enhancing Nepal's participation in international travel fairs, reinforcing the Buddhist International Travel Mart (BITM), promoting domestic tourism, accelerating digital transformation, building professional capacity, creating opportunities for young tourism entrepreneurs, and advancing sustainable, responsible, and community-based tourism.

Tuladhar emphasized that Nepal should not only aim to increase tourist arrivals but also focus on attracting quality visitors who stay longer, spend more, and respect local communities and culture. She believes NATTA must play a more effective role in positioning Nepal as a safe, diverse, and sustainable tourism destination.

The election for NATTA's 25th Executive Committee will be held on 14 August 2026 (29 Shrawan 2083 BS) alongside the association's 59th Annual General Meeting.
