The Embassy of Bangladesh in Nepal organised the "Bangladesh Mango Delicacy" festival in Kathmandu, highlighting Bangladesh's renowned mango varieties while promoting tourism, cultural exchange, and agricultural cooperation between Nepal and Bangladesh.

The festival featured some of Bangladesh's finest mangoes, including Himsagar (Khirsapat), Haribhanga, Langra, Fazli, Amrapali, Katimon, and Gourmati, along with a range of mango-based delicacies. Diplomats, tourism stakeholders, fruit importers, business representatives, and media personnel attended the event.
Speaking at the festival, Bangladesh's Ambassador to Nepal, Md Shafiqur Rahman, said that mangoes are not only an important agricultural product but also a symbol of Bangladesh's culture, heritage, and hospitality. He noted that such events help strengthen people-to-people connections while creating new opportunities for tourism and trade.

The festival also underscored the growing importance of food tourism (gastronomy tourism), encouraging visitors to experience a destination through its unique culinary traditions. Organisers believe initiatives like this can further enhance tourism cooperation and cultural exchanges between Nepal and Bangladesh while showcasing Bangladesh as an attractive travel destination.
